The 2025-2026 school year at Pella Christian schools is officially underway, with students returning to classes this week. Kindergarten through eighth grade students, as well as all new high school students and freshmen, begin the year with a half day today. Full school days officially resume tomorrow, with all high school students starting their year at 8:20 am. Pella Christian Grade School Principal Ben Dirksen says he is excited to resume classes, and that the first day of school is one of his favorite days of the year.
“I think the first day of school is like a holiday, it’s one of my favorite days on the calendar. We have football players and high schoolers out here greeting the kids, and they are ready to come to school. They’re ready to learn and we love that our kids like being in our building, that means a lot to us. So, to get to celebrate that together, to open with worship, and then launch ourselves into a year is a really exciting time.”
