Newton Girls Tennis Swept in Dual at Boone

The Newton girls tennis team did not win a set at Boone Monday, losing 11-0 to the undefeated Toreadors. The best performances turned in by the Cardinals were #1 and #2 singles players Brooklyn Sterling and Sloan Brodersen. Sterling lost her match 6-4, 6-0, while Brodersen was defeated 6-2, 6-2. Sterling and Brodersen also lost their doubles match 6-1,6-4. Newton’s Kenzly Brant and Haylie Milheiser had a strong second set in their doubles match loss 6-0, 6-4. The Cardinals girls tennis team is now 1-4 on the year, and will travel to Pella Thursday to take on the Dutch at Caldwell Park.
