The Knoxville Public Library is holding an Iowa Prohibition and Bootlegging Legacy event tonight.

This event will be a presentation with Ann Hanigan Kotz as she discusses the history of the Prohibition era and the bootlegging industry in Iowa. Kotz has written a book called “Moonshine by Moonlight” which is a historical fiction book about the topic. The event at the library will be at 6:00 pm in the Weiler Room. Knoxville Public Adult Services Librarian Cari Meissner says this event is a great way to learn about history.

“It is well researched fiction, historical fiction. She has written a book that is called “Moonshine by Moonlight” and we carry that here in the library so feel free to read ahead and catch up before the program. It’s about Iowa’s prohibition and bootlegging legacy. She comes and discusses everything that was going on back in the prohibition era here. It will be an interesting night, I’m really excited for her.”

All Knoxville Public Library programming is free and open to the public.
