United Way is a worldwide organization that provides funds to nonprofits to help mobilize communities around the world to close gaps and open opportunities so everyone can thrive. The Marion County United Way was established in 1972, and is an umbrella type of organization that supports many different local non-profits.. The group is made up of a board of volunteers and they help smaller organizations that may not be able to fund themselves.
The mission of the Marion County United Way (MCUW) is to focus on improving the quality of life for our community members through health, human services, and education. Funds for United Way are allocated in four payments throughout the year. You can apply for 2026 funding here and applications are due September 30th.
