The Pella Police Department has a first-of-its-kind service up and running. Mental Health Professional Mike Crowe has been added to the department’s Crisis Intervention Team, and he serves with Senior Officer Chad Hardman.

Crowe is a veteran first responder and mental health advocate who brings experience in EMS and fire service, along with a commitment to mental health education. He works with Inside Out Wellness & Advocacy out of Perry, Iowa.

Both Crowe and Officer Hardman have been responding to mental health-related calls and provide support to individuals in crisis
