The Pleasantville football team will open their 2025 season on the road at Lynnville-Sully tonight.
The Trojans ended the regular season last year with a 6-2 overall record, but drew a tough Regina team in the opening round of the playoffs and fell in that game 32-21 to end their season. The silver lining at the end of last season was that the Trojans still had a fairly young roster with only five seniors on the team. Among those returning this year are all-state defensive back and quarterback Braylon Bingham who was also the all-district MVP, first team all-district offensive players Logan Roff, JJ Phillips, and Brayden Kennedy, and first team all-district defensive players Caylor Jones, and Owen Rule. Head Coach Mack Jorth will be entering his eighth year as the head coach of the Trojans.
The Hawks finished last season with a 5-4 overall record after losing to Riverside in the opening round of the postseason. Lynnville-Sully will return Gavin Fisk at running back who rushed for over 500 yards last year in his sophomore season and Matthew Mintle and Jack Bowlin at receiver who combined for 65 receptions last year and almost 1,000 yards. The Hawks lead the overall series 5-4 in the Bound era with Pleasantville winning last year’s matchup.
Tonight’s game in Sully will start at 7:00 pm.
