The Twin Cedars Volleyball Squad went 0-3 at the Lynnville-Sully Quad on Thursday. The Sabers lost to PCM in two sets, Lynnville-Sully in three sets, and Newton in two sets. Sage Hoksbergen had 18 assists, five aces, and two solo blocks. Jordyn Greatbatch and M.J. Smith had five kills each. Libero Blayne Comstock had 11 digs. Twin Cedars is 1-3 on the season and will head to Southeast Warren on Tuesday.
A new era, in hopes to return Twin Cedars Football back to being competitive in the eight-man ranks begins tonight as new coach Michael Duschen coaches his first game for the Sabers. Twin Cedars’ football fortunes have fallen on hard times recently and Duschen wants to return the program to its winning way that was going on less than a decade ago. He has been talking about the culture and making that change early on. He adds tonight it comes down to taking the opponent, Mormon Trail seriously and controlling what they can control.
Duschen: “We got to go into every game and practice, and go in there expecting we’re going to get their best and they’re the best team we’ve played because we have to take care of our business.”
Both teams went winless in 2024 so tonight is a chance for the Sabers to start to change that culture in the season opener. Kick off is set for 7:00.
