New stadium, new coach — but a familiar result. The Pella football team began the 2025 season and the Ben Bollard era with a 26-7 victory over Ballard, as heard on the KRLS2 stream on Friday.

An early safety caused by a Bombers miscue was quickly followed up by the first of two touchdowns by Harrison Mullens on passes from Michael Manning. Emmanuel Diers broke free on a scramble-drill screen play just before the end of the half to give Pella a 23-0 advantage.

Mullens finished with 100 yards receiving, with Diers tacking on 160 all-purpose yards. Rex Rhamy added two interceptions of defense.

Pella is 1-0 and next travels to Waverly-Shell Rock next Friday.
