The Pleasantville football team defeated Lynnville-Sully on the road Friday night to open their 2025 season.
The Trojans defeated the Hawks 47-36 after a strong offensive performance. Logan Roff had two touchdowns in the contest which came off a catch and a kick off return, Ethan King had two receiving touchdowns, and Braylon Bingham had one rushing touchdown with three passing touchdowns. Head Coach Mack Jorth says strong momentum can be built after winning the first game of the season.
“I think it’s always huge to win the first game of the season especially if you feel like you didn’t play your best football. We did a lot of really good things but a lot of things we have to shore up which is always the case for everyone after week one so when you can come out of week one with a victory and know there is a lot better football waiting for you in the future that’s very encouraging and exciting for things to come here.”
The Trojans start their season 1-0 and will host Pella Christian next week.
