Extra traffic enforcement will be patrolling area roadways for the Labor Day holiday weekend. Pella Police Captain Paul Haase says the department is partnering with state and county agencies through the Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau. Haase says during these extra enforcement periods, they emphasize violations related to speed, seatbelts, and driving while intoxicated. Additionally, the department will continue issuing warnings in accordance with a new hands free electronic device law.
