The Indianola girls cross country team placed 4th at the Johnston Sunrise Invitational on Saturday morning, scoring 114 team points. Ady Mason led the way for Indianola in 16th place, Cali Laxton was 20th, Paige Hoger was 23rd, and Lilly Hoger was 27th. Indianola next competes at Dallas Center-Grimes on Tuesday.

The Indianola volleyball team came out of pool play with a first place victory in the group with wins over Pella Christian, the host Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays, and Ankeny Christian, advancing to the Gold Pool. The Indians then fell in two sets to Little Hawkeye Conference rival Pella, then lost in the third set against both Denver and North Tama to end the day 3-3. Head coach Jana McGraw said the team struggled with missed serves and unforced errors, and are going through growing pains as a young team to play consistently.

Indianola is now 4-7 on the season, and hosts Newton on Tuesday in Little Hawkeye Conference action.
