The Pella Christian volleyball team opens Little Hawkeye Conference play tonight, making the short road trip to take on rival Oskaloosa.
Looking to bounce back from a 1-5 weekend at Bondurant-Farrar’s Skip Anderson Classic, the Eagles will look to knock off the Indians for the second straight season. On Eagle Lane last fall, Pella Christian defeated Oskaloosa in four sets, ending a three-game losing streak in the series. Since 2008, each team has won 11 of the 22 matches played between the two schools, but the Indians have recently held the upper hand by winning seven of the last nine meetings. Oskaloosa enters the match with a 1-4 overall record after competing in a pair of tournaments at Carlisle, earning their one win over the host Wildcats, while dropping contests against Creston, Knoxville, Ottumwa, and Carlisle.
First serve tonight at Oskaloosa High School is at 7:15 pm.
