The Pella Public Library will host Iowa author Angela Youngers for a Ladies Night Out on Monday, September 15th.
Attendees will play a variety of party games, which will be tied to themes and readings from Youngers’ recently published first novel, “Another Dance”. Interactive components will be interspersed with discussions of her book, writing journey, process, and inspiration. The night will include games such as Apples to Apples, What do You Meme?, and Scattergories, where Youngers has made up the prompts to be themed to the event and her book. Angela is a women’s fiction writer, who grew up in southeastern Iowa and graduated from Ottumwa High School, and now lives and teaches in Waukee. Her novel is a contemporary romance about a widowed mother trying to rebuild her sense of identity and reconnect with others. Themes of marriage, motherhood, grief, identity, mental health, and addiction are present throughout the book.
Copies of her book will be available for purchase and signing after the presentation. The free event is for those 18 years old or older and will take place in the library Meeting Room at 6:30 pm, but registration is required. Find a link to register for the event here.
