The Iowa Interstate Railroad is continuing to work on maintaining and improving railroad crossings across Jasper County, while many projects have already been completed. One such project that is ongoing is on West 140th Street South, just east of Mitchellville, which started Wednesday. The work at the railroad crossing has closed the road to through traffic between Jasper County Highway F-48 West and South 28th Avenue West. No detour is provided for this project. The Iowa Interstate Railroad expects the work to be completed and for West 140th Street South to be re-opened by the end of Friday.
