Simpson rolled past Grinnell 3-0 on goals from Ian Macrae and Allan Martinez to secure the first win of the 2025 season on Wednesday.

Macrae wasted no time in putting Simpson (1-1-2) on the board, striking with his first goal of the year in just the third minute of the match. The Storm continued to pressure Grinnell (0-1-2) for the rest of the half with three more shots and entered halftime with a 1-0 lead.

The Storm began to pull away in the second half after Alvarez connected on a goal from the left side, then just a minute later, struck again for his second goal. The two second half goals from Martinez gave Simpson all the insurance needed to safely cruise to a commanding 3-0 road win.

Simpson’s backline allowed only one shot all match, with none reaching goal as the Storm gave keeper Mason Chaplin his first clean sheet of the year, and second on the season for the team.
