
The Indianola girls swimming team placed fourth at Grinnell Thursday evening, scoring 128 team points. Top finishers for the Indians included Chloe Powers placed 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke, Kaylee Dykstra placing 3rd in the 500 Freestyle, and the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay teams placing fifth each with the teams of Claire Kingland, Serenity Turner, Olivia Costigan, and Dykstra. Indianola next hits the pool in their home opener on Thursday hosting Perry at the Indianola Wellness Campus.
The Indianola football team looks for a 2-0 start to the season tonight playing their second straight Warren County rival, this time on the road at Carlisle. The Indians outlasted Norwalk with an efficient gameplan on both offense and defense last week, with quarterback Asher Brueck completing nearly 70% of his passes and the offense averaging four yards per carry, and the defense allowing only one Warriors touchdown. Carlisle had a stellar first half against Newton in their 49-42 loss to the Cardinals, and featured a change in offense from history, throwing for 286 yards. Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports it is a new dimension from the Wildcats they will have to watch out for.
