
A good day for Panthers sports teams on Thursday as the cross country squads both recorded runner-up finishes at Wayne and the girls tennis squad swept Albia 9-0. In Wayne, Isaac Rankin won his third race in as many starts, running a 15:59 to win by just :00.7. Connor Schultz placed 7th for the other Panther in the top ten. For the girls Nicole Schultz had her best finish of the season with a 5th place in 21:33. Knoxville heads to Grinnell on Tuesday. At the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts the Knoxville Girls Tennis Squad made quick work of Albia with no player, singles or doubles, losing a set. Bridgette Liston, Addy Dunkin, Jordyn Counts, Ashlynne Marvelli, Ayla Williams, and Brylee Woolsey all won singles. With the win Knoxville clinched the regular season team conference title and will go into Monday’s South Central Conference meet as the favorite which is held in Knoxville.
