Marion County Public Health is holding a 99 county cancer education presentation on Monday.
This event will be from 9:30 am – 10:45 am and is a way to join experts from the Iowa Cancer Registry to learn about cancer trends, statistics, and risk factors in the county. This is part of the 99 Counties Project, which is a public health initiative aimed at enhancing cancer education across Iowa. The state has the second highest rate of new cancer diagnosis in the country and Marion County currently ranks #36 for new cancer rates in the state.
Local residents, public health officials, community leaders, and policy makers are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion. Representatives from the 99 Counties Project will share the latest cancer data related to Marion County and provide residents an opportunity to voice concerns or suggestions for improving cancer outcomes in the community.
Attend virtually or in person at Marion County Public Health (2003 N. Lincoln Street, Knoxville). Those who wish to attend virtually, register at https://iowacancerconsortium.wildapricot.org/event-6277185
