Dinosaurs will be roaming Newton’s Agnes Patterson Park next Saturday as the Newton Parks and Recreation Department and the Newton Public Library host a Dino Stomp. Newton Public Library Youth Services Librarian Phyllis Peter says the event is centered around the storywalk at Agnes Patterson Park.
“After we walk the story, the sea turtle ice cream truck will provide free ice cream to all the kids who attend. We will also have bubbles and a couple of people in inflatable dinosaur costumes.”
The story that’s featured is “Tiny T. Rex and the Impossible Hug.” Peter says it takes about 20 minutes to walk the story, and all the kids attending will get a free dinosaur headband as the walk begins. She adds children between the ages of two and six really enjoy the storywalk, and they expect a big crowd..
“The last time we did this we had 125 that came and enjoyed it, and that was the same day as the Iowa- Iowa State football game.”
The Dino Stomp at Newton’s Agnes Patterson Park next Saturday begins at 9 a.m.
