September is Library Card Sign-Up Month.
The annual month is designated by the American Library Association, and is a way to celebrate all that local libraries have to offer library card holders. The theme for this year’s National Library Card Sign-Up Month is “One Card, Endless Possibilities”, which is a reminder that libraries are for everyone—no matter your age, background, or goals. Knoxville Adult Services Librarian Cari Meissner says that having a library card also means a sense of belonging.
“Having a library card means you belong somewhere. Having a library is a sign of you being home, of you being part of a community. You can think of it that way or you can also think about that with your library card you have access to tons of free resources.”
The Knoxville Public Library is located at 213 E Montgomery Street.
