The Knoxville Football Squad was unable to generate much offensively and was unable to stop Albia in a 44-6 loss to the Blue Demons on Friday in a game heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Panthers allowed two 1st quarter touchdowns to fall into a 14-0 hole. Knoxville’s lone score came on a Grant DeMoss 12 yard pass reception from Roston McCarty in the 2nd quarter to pull to within 14-6, but Albia scored with just :02 remaining in the 1st half and never looked back. The Panthers were held to just 40 yards on the ground. Coach Matt Dunkin told KNIA/KRLS Sports, mistakes were many and costly on Friday.

Dunkin: “Just not getting stuff cleaned up and making mistakes. We’re not a team that can allow that to happen, and we need to get that cleaned up.”

McCarty was 14/24 for 173 yards, a touchdown and an interception. DeMoss led in receptions with 54 yards on four receptions. Knoxville is now 0-3 and will host Fairfield next week for homecoming.
