
Led by an even-par second round from Jackson Tennis, and another top-10 performance by Blake Perrin, the Simpson men’s golf team took fourth overall at the Duhawk Invitational on Monday.
After a solid 78 in the opening round, Jackson Tennis went for even par-72 golf in the second round to jump up to the top of the team leaderboard for Simpson. His 150 total placed Tennis in seventh on the overall player leaderboard.
Blake Perrin followed suit after posting a team-leading 75 in the opening round, finishing with a 77 to earn another top-10 finish. Bradley Kofoed dropped four strokes off his game in the second round to finish third on the team, while Jacob Peterson and Jack Wahman rounded out the scorecard for the Storm.
Top-ten performances from Addison Brink and Laura Klaessy provided the Storm enough firepower to take home second overall at the Duhawk Invitational on Monday afternoon.
Brink put together another team-leading effort as her second round score of 84 was tied for the lowest score by any Storm, along with teammate Joann Martin. Klaessy paced the Storm in the opening round with an 85 and took home eighth overall in the field.
Consistent play from Tessa Rounds and Kaylin Long made up the middle of the scorecard for Simpson. Martin saw the largest improvement in the tournament for the Storm, dropping nine strokes off her game to help lead Simpson on day two with an 84.
