
Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday impacted an area that hasn’t seen much in the way of precipitation recently. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team had live on-air coverage of two severe thunderstorm warnings impacting portions of Warren and Marion Counties, with three on-air staff members contributing to coverage and updates from a Weatherology meteorologist. Several locations recorded high amounts of beneficial rainfall, including (as of 11 p.m. Wednesday):
Pella – 1.27″
Lake Red Rock – .97″
Knoxville – .62″
Indianola – .47″
Newton – 1.21″
Periodic precipitation chances will continue through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service, although the severe weather threat will remain generally low.
