While the Melcher-Dallas Football Squad played its main arch-rival a couple of weeks ago with a win over Twin Cedars, the Saints play another close rival that they have not played since 2020 Southeast Warren. The Saints are 1-2 after a 60-0 loss to Baxter last week and look to get back in the district race and pull an upset of one of District Seven’s top teams. The Warhawks possess the strong running game that has churned up 855 yards and 17 touchdowns. Melcher-Dallas Coach Jason Mason tells KNIA Sports the goal is to make Southeast Warren one dimensional, taking away the running game.

Mason: “We can make a team one dimensional and make them do something they can’t do. I look at this week as more mental preparation because we’re going to have to play these guys for 60 minutes and get them to do what they don’t want to do.”

The on again, off again series is actually tied according to B.C. Moore at six wins for each team. The Warhawks have won the last three meetings dating back to 1998. The last Melcher-Dallas win came on September 2nd, 1994 when the Saints won 36-18. Kick off tonight from Melcher-Dallas is set for 7:00.
