The Central College women’s soccer team started their week off with a 1-0 home win against Grinnell College Tuesday.

Central (5-1-1) struck early with a goal scored by Olivia DeVos at the 19:45 mark, and that ended up being the only goal of the game, as the Dutch hung on for the victory. The goal was DeVos’ third of the season, and it was assisted by fellow sophomore Kylie Bloomstrom. It was an impressive defensive performance from the Dutch, who allowed zero shots on goal and only two shots in total over the course of the 90-minute match.

Central got back to their winning ways just in time for conference play, which starts on Saturday, and the Dutch will host the University of Dubuque for their homecoming game at 12:30 pm.
