The #2 in 4A Pella volleyball team made quick work of a Tuesday conference home match, defeating Newton 3-0 (25-12, 25-8, 25-8).

Pella trailed only early in set one and otherwise controlled the contest throughout. Natalia Plate led the Dutch with nine kills, with Brooke Schulte, Abbie Brand, and Katie Scheckel each adding eight kills. Pella tallied 14 service aces in the effort. Morgan Frehse led the Cardinals with five kills.

Pella improves to 21-8 overall and 3-0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference, and is next in action Tuesday at DCG. Newton falls to 6-9 overall and 0-4 in league competition; the Cardinals are back in action next week at home against Oskaloosa.
