The Knoxville Football Squad will travel to Saydel tonight looking for its first win of the season and knowing it is now district play, looking to reset the season after a frustrating first four weeks. The Panthers take on a program that has a long reputation of not being competitive in most seasons. The Eagles do have one win this season, a week two victory over Des Moines North. The Eagles implement a defense that is not seen, at least on the high school level, a three/three stack. Coach Matt Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it has caused his staff to review blocking with only three down linemen and review assignments.

Dunkin: “Defensively they run a defense we haven’t seen in a couple of seasons, a three/three stack, so that has caused the coaches to look differently at blocking assignments and just let them know that they’re different with just three down linemen.”

The Panthers defense hopes to take a step forward tonight along with the offense that still churned up 367 yards last week in a loss to Fairfield. With a win tonight, the Panthers would open up district play with a win for the first time since 2005. Live coverage can be found on 95.3 KNIA at 6:30 with the kick off at 7:00.
