Nearly 90 Colfax-Mingo High School students were enrolled in Des Moines Area Community College classes last school year, and saved over $150,000 in tuition. The Newton DMACC Campus says 88 Tigerhawks earned 795 DMACC credits during the 2024-2025 school year, achieving an 87% success rate, and 466 of the credits were earned at Colfax-Mingo Jr./Sr, High School, with the help of five certified instructors. Just under 200  DMACC credits were earned online by Colfax-Mingo High School students last school year, while another 131 were earned at a DMACC Career Academy. The total DMACC tuition saved by the 88 Colfax-Mingo students in 2024-2025 was $153,435, which averages out to just over $1,743 per student.
