The Knoxville Football Squad put it all together for a 37-21 win over Saydel on Friday as heard live on 95.3 KNIA. Emmitt Hyatt was the star as he rushed for 168 yards on 29 carries and got himself a Bundy with four touchdowns to lead a ground attack that rolled up 343 yards. Hyatt scored on runs of four, 14, six, and 15 yards and along with Jackson Clarke adding a score from one yard out plus Tommy Buttell booting a 35 yard field goal Knoxville was in control for most of the game. Coach Matt Dunkin told KNIA/KRLS Sports Hyatt’s and all of the running ability was due in large part to the blocking of the big boys up front.
Dunkin: “That’s a credit to our offensive line. Coach Hud does a great job with those guys, they come to practice and work hard every day, and we put a lot of pressure on them, and for them to do that good of a job was nice to see.”
Roston McCarty was 14/22 for 197 yards with TaShawn Connor leading the way in the receiving category with six grabs for 98 yards. Knoxville is 1-4 and for the first time since 2005 1-0 in the district play and will travel to Winterset next Friday.
