It just took an hour for the #2 in 1A Pella tennis team to find their way back to the girls state tournament. The Dutch swept Ballard 5-0 at home on Saturday to earn another bid to the final eight of Class 1A.

Pella had wins from Abby Hietbrink, Addison Van Wyk, Reagan DeJong, Ellie Smock, and Macy Westerkamp. Smock and Westerkamp will be featured on Tuesday’s edition of “Today’s Lely Radio Sports Page” on KNIA/KRLS.

Pella will compete this week at the state singles and doubles tournament in Iowa City on Wednesday, before hosting the state team tournament on October 6 and 7. Hietbrink/Addi Namminga and DeJong/Van Wyk will be the duos for the Dutch in the doubles bracket.
