The Newton Colfax-Mingo Pella Aquagirls celebrated seniors Harper Barton, Brilea Moffit, and Tori White with a 91-76 win over Des Moines Lincoln at the Newton YMCA Thursday. For first year Aquagirls coach Kaylee Franke, it was an emotional meet.

“I don’t think there is a better group of seniors that I could start with that are more passionate about their sport and being good leaders on their team. I am going to tear up again.”

Barton won the 50-meter freestyle (27.74) and 100-meter freestyle (1:00.70), while White took first place in the 100-meter backstroke (1:10.23). Temple Barton won the 200-meter freestyle (2:18.83) and Alexa Van Maanen finished first in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:28.02). Both Barton’s, White, and Reid McCloud placed first in the 200-meter freestyle relay (1:56.04) and the 400-meter freestyle relay (4:20.82).

The Newton Colfax-Mingo Pella Aquagirls are now 5-0 in duals, and will participate in a triangular in Ankeny on Thursday.
