
The Norwalk boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Southeast Polk Invite in Pleasant Hill on Thursday. The boys came in second place, trailing first-place Dallas Center Grimes by three points, and the girls placed fourth.
Norwalk senior boys runner Teegan Kralik secured second place for the second meet in a row, with a time of 16:03. Senior Sam Parker finished fifth with a time of 16:37, and freshman Brayden Walderbach followed behind at eighth place with a time of 16:52. Sam Buhrow and Aksel Beedon also cracked the top-20, placing 12th and 15th, respectively, and Lane Osterloh finished in 21st.
For the Warrior girls, freshman Hannah Schmitz was their leader for the third consecutive race, placing fifth with a time of 19:37. Sophomores Gabby Drymon and Olive DeRocher finished 12th and 15th with times of 20:05 and 20:17. Senior Pearl Brown placed 39th.
The Norwalk cross country teams return to action Thursday, October 9th, at the Fort Dodge Invitational at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course. The first varsity race is set to begin at 5:15 pm.
