The Pella Marching Dutch kick off their competition season on Saturday in an event featuring some of the best marching bands in the Midwest. Pella opens Saturday morning at the Bands of America Regional Contest at Waukee Northwest High School at 9:45 a.m. Director of the Pella Marching Dutch Dameon Place says the elite field of 30 bands from seven states will make it a challenge to qualify for the prestigious evening finals.
