The Central College women’s tennis team made a triumphant return home, securing a 5-2 win over Loras College Friday.

After losing three consecutive American Rivers Conference matches away from the Poortinga Family Tennis Courts, Central (5-3, 4-3 conference) dispatched Loras to get back in the win column. Emily Blom and Sidney Peterson both went 2-0 in the match. They paired together for a 6-1 win at #3 doubles, while Blom won 6-0, 6-0 at #5 singles and Peterson won 7-5, 6-2 at #6 singles. Madi Whalen and Jenna Mitsuko Mahoney were 6-2 winners at #2 doubles to take the doubles point. Emma Murphy won 6-2, 6-1 at #4 singles and Lauren Gano won 6-2, 6-0 at #3 singles.

Central hosts the University of Dubuque Saturday morning at 10 a.m. on the Poortinga Family Tennis Courts.
