Monday starts Fall Clean-Up Week at Newton’s two cemeteries. Next week, city cemetery staff will remove all decorations that have been placed on burial spaces in Union Cemetery and Memorial Park Cemetery. Those who have  placed decorations they want to keep must remove them prior to Monday. All decorations not permanently attached to a headstone or the foundation left after the start of clean-up will be removed and discarded. Once clean-up week is over, decorations may be placed again until the next removal period in April. The fall clean-up at Union Cemetery and Memorial Park Cemetery is always scheduled for the first full week of October, weather permitting.
