The Pleasantville football team defeated Ogden in commanding fashion Friday night in their Homecoming game.
Before some fans had even found their seats, the Trojans were up 7-0 after a long touchdown pass from Braylon Bingham to Brayden Kennedy on the first play from scrimmage. Pleasantville would then lead 28-0 at the end of the first quarter after rushing touchdowns from JJ Phillips and Owen Rule and another Kennedy receiving touchdown. Pleasantville went into halftime with a 35-0 after another Phillips touchdown run.
The second half was quick moving with a running clock and the Trojans played many of their reserves. Pleasantville did add on ten more points in the second half on a Phillips receiving touchdown and a Trindon Phipps field goal to secure the 45-7 win. Head Coach Mack Jorth says he was happy with how his team played and that they continue to improve.
“I think we are continuing to grow. I think we’re continuing to get better. The injury development and the healing is something to do with it but I just think we have a lot of different athletes who can do things with the football and make you pay and I think we just continue to expand into that and balance those things out and find a way to utilize all of them and I think it just continues to be the fruits of that labor.”
The Trojans improve to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in district play and will host West Central Valley next Friday.
