The Pella Community Foundation will host a Nonprofit Showcase later this month. The free public event celebrating the work of local nonprofit organizations supported by the foundation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 at the Pella Opera House. It offers an opportunity for community members to connect with local nonprofits, learn about their missions and discover ways to support, volunteer or get involved. Participating organizations have received grants from the Pella Community Foundation in recent years, and the showcase allows them to share how their projects are making a difference in the lives of people throughout the area.
“This showcase is a chance for the community to see the real impact of their support,” said Mark Wiskus, president of the Pella Community Foundation. “It’s not just about writing a check — it’s about connecting with the people and programs that make Pella a better place. The foundation is proud to help donors support a wide range of causes through a thoughtful and effective grantmaking process.”
For donors, the showcase also offers a behind-the-scenes look at how their contributions are distributed. By partnering with the Pella Community Foundation, donors can make a single gift that is allocated to vetted organizations, ensuring that funds are used for community-driven projects.
The event is free and open to the public, and no registration is required. Attendees are encouraged to stop by anytime during event hours to explore booths, ask questions and engage with local organizations.
