The Pheasants Forever habitat organization is holding its annual banquet on Saturday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Fellowship Hall in Indianola, beginning at 5 p.m. The purpose of the banquet is for the local chapter to raise funds to support their efforts in preserving habitat in the Warren County area and to encourage youth involvement in the hobby and sport of hunting. Habitat Chairman for Pheasants Forever Jim Wooley tells KNIA News the organization has been raising funds for local purposes for 39 years.
“The funds that are raised, for the most part, stay local. They get used in food plots and native grass plantings that we cross-share with land owners, they get used for helping to purchase public wildlife areas, and they get used to support youth shooting sports. So it’s kind of a big fundraiser for all the things we do for the rest of the year.”
Saturday’s fundraising banquet will include a social hour, smoked pork chop dinner catered by Sportspage, live and silent auctions, and raffles.
