After picking up their first win of the season last week, the Pella Christian football team looks to build on that momentum tonight with a pivotal Class 2A District 7 matchup at South Tama.
Both the Eagles and Trojans enter tonight’s contest with 1-2 records in district play, which currently has them in a three-way tie with Albia for third place in the district. With South Tama defeating the Blue Demons to open district play and Pella Christian set to host Albia next week, the winner of tonight’s game will put themselves in a position to secure third. While everything is still ahead of Pella Christian in terms of postseason play, head coach Rich Kacmarynski says they are focused on the task at hand tonight.
“We have focused on playing our best football from day one, and I think that’s one of the things that carried us through our early season [losing] streak. So, we’ve just got to focus on playing better, improving, playing our best football, and that’s really been our emphasis again this week.”
Coverage of Pella Christian football at South Tama tonight can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame coverage at 6:30 pm.
