The City of Newton is warning drivers of expected traffic disruption for a couple of hours on the city’s south side Monday morning because of a house move. The city says a new home built by Iowa Prison Industries will be moved from the prison to 321 East 8th Street South between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Monday. The route that has been designated for the new home is along South 60th Avenue West, West 4th Street South, South 2nd Avenue West, East 3rd Street South, South 3rd Avenue East, and East 8th Street South. Once arriving at 321 East 8th Street South, the new home will be set on a new foundation. The city asks residents not to park along the route Monday morning, and to expect delays and use extra caution if traveling in the area.
