The Administration Department for the City of Newton is preparing for the loss of a significant amount of work experience over the next six months in the finance division. City Finance Officer Lisa Frasier says several longtime employees are retiring.

“Over the next six months, three of the nine employees in the Finance Division will be retiring. All nine employees represent 98 total years of experience. The three retirements account for 85 of those years.”

Frasier is among the employees retiring. She has worked for the City of Newton since November 2003. While giving her last mid-year finance update to the city council this week, she said the cross-training and succession planning that has taken place will allow the division to move forward without any issues.
