The Indianola football team has a rare Thursday night game tonight on the road at Sioux City North to take on the Stars, trying to get back on track after a loss to Ankeny Centennial last week. The Indians will most likely need to win both of their remaining games to have a chance at the class 5A postseason, currently ranked #16 in the RPI, and will look to do so tonight against a one-win Sioux City North team. The Stars have a balanced offense, and Indianola will need to get pressure on Stars quarterback Jack Mogensen, who has thrown for nearly 800 yards on the season and 8 touchdowns.
Head coach Eric Kluver said the team will have to shake off being a day early in the routine of the week, and stay focused as there is still a lot this team wants to accomplish this season.
The game can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner, Rick Wilson, and Rob Hawkins on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30pm, with kickoff at 7pm.
The Indianola girls swimming team hosts the Boone Toreadors tonight for a matchup at the Indianola Wellness Campus. The Indians have matched up with Boone earlier this season, falling just behind the Toreadors in a five-team meet. The meet tonight will be the last tune-up meet before the Little Hawkeye Conference meet next Tuesday, and state qualifying later this month. Action starts tonight at 5:30pm.
