The Pella Christian volleyball team will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, competing in the Knoxville Invitational.
The Eagles will compete in an eight-team field that features three ranked schools in attendance. The ranked teams include Class 4A #11 Ballard, 3A #12 Roland-Story, and 2A #6 Union. Other schools set to compete in Knoxville Saturday include Albia, Creston, Decorah, and the hosts. The invitational on Saturday will serve as Pella Christian’s final tuneup ahead of postseason play, which will begin on Tuesday at home against South Tama. In addition to cleaning things up before regionals, the Eagles will look to use the tournament as an opportunity to build some momentum. Pella Christian enters Saturday’s tournament having lost six of their last seven games, but on average, the Eagles margin of defeat in the 16 sets played in those losses is just five points per set.
The Knoxville Invitational on Saturday is scheduled to begin at 8:30 am.
