
The Pleasantville volleyball team defeated Central Decatur at home Monday night in the opening round of Class 2A Region 6 play.
The Trojans won the first set 25-14 and then won set two 25-19. Pleasantville then won a close set three 25-22 to sweep the match. Lily Mason led the team in kills with 11 while Harper McGraw had nine. As a team, the Trojans had 15 aces in the match with Gabby Baethke having five along with 22 assists. Coach Ammie McGraw said it was an overall much better hitting night and her team had a lot fewer errors.
Pleasantville will now take a long road trip to La Porte City on Wednesday for a regional quarterfinals contest against Union.
