The Indianola City Council approved their subcommittee policy at their meeting Monday, discussing the formation and procedures for various subcommittees on the council that include elected officials and city staff. City Manager Jake Meshke tells KNIA News the subcommittees will allow for council members to dive deeper into issues and have more in-depth discussions open to the public, that will be brought back before the regular council meetings
“Making sure we are having plenty of transparency, but also being able to have some conversations, some guidance, and some education on certain items early on in the process, knowing that these items are very likely going to come in the future to the full council. Whether that be in a study session for additional conversation, or of course a regular council session where action would be taken.”
