The Melcher-Dallas Cross COuntry Squads finished their seasons at the class one-A State Qualifier at South Hamilton on Thursday. The girls were led over the line by Amber Addington in 39th place with a time of 24:26…and Alice Lamb was 61st in a time of 27:20. For the boys Trace Mann was 52nd in a time of 20:14…Austin Remster was 82nd with a time of 22:19…while Tristian Steele had a time of 26:06.
While eight-man football teams across the state are getting ready for the 1st round of playoffs, teams that did not qualify can opt in for a 9th game to finish up the season. Melcher-Dallas is playing that 9th game at home against Seymour. The Saints are coming off a heartbreaking 61-58 loss to Stanton. The Saints will play a team that was not very far out of the playoff picture at 4-5 and defeated Murray in overtime 37-36. The Warriors come in very balanced and Saints Coach Jason Mason says the Warriors running back is a big key for their success.
Mason: “They have a good kid back there. His name is Drayden Miller and he’s one to watch. I think if we can eliminate some of their crossing patterns they like to run I think we’ll be pretty good.”
Drayden Miller has 604 yards on the ground and has passed for 446 yards. Kick off from Melcher-Dallas is set for seven.
