While eight-man football teams across the state are getting ready for the first round playoffs, teams that did not qualify can opt in for a 9th game to finish up the season. Twin Cedars is doing that against Stanton, fresh off its first win of the season over the Sabers rival Melcher-Dallas last week. The Sabers have just one victory on the season but Coach Michael Duschen tells KNIA/KRLS Sports one thing he has liked about his team is they have never given up.
Duschen: “This team had done a great job playing hard from the start to finish of the game. It may not have been consistent with how well they played, but they have played hard in all of the games.”
Last week the Sabers were relatively balanced in a 46-20 loss to Moravia, but gave up over 300 yards on the ground, which has been a problem for the Sabers this season. Stanton relies more on the pass, throwing for over 1100 yards this season. Kick off from Twin Cedars is scheduled for 7:00.
