The Indianola Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday for Muddy Puddles, a new ice cream shop off the downtown Indianola square. Owner Rusti Wood tells KNIA News one of their goals was to make the business very family and community oriented, and they will be able to have flexible hours built around possible Indianola High School or Simpson College events to make sure community members can stay local.

“We want to run our business like it’s a family, and we want our customers to feel like they are a part of that family. We want to be open late for the college if they have something going on we hope to be able to offer delivery services to Simpson in the potential future, because they are right there we know that would be a potential option. We’ll stay open late for events in the community to encourage our kids and other families to stay in this community and be here for after hours, not just have to drive to Des Moines.
