The Newton City is being asked to approve new fees for cart rentals and golfing at Westwood Golf Course. Newton Community Development Director Erin Chambers says adjusting the fees in early November is important.

“It’s important to have the golf fee schedule adjusted ahead of Christmastime, because a lot of people want to buy passes for stocking stuffers. We want to have those posted well before January 1.”  

Chambers says the proposed schedule changes are built around the concept of increasing the cost of playing a round of golf and cart rental on a weekend at Westwood by $5.00, with everything else adjusted proportionately. If approved, the new fee schedule would take effect immediately for all 2026 passes and rounds to be played after January 1, 2026. The Newton City Council will consider the fee changes at Monday’s 6 p.m. city council meeting.
