Norwalk senior Teegan Kralik

The Norwalk boys cross country team finished their 2025 season at the State Cross Country Championships in Fort Dodge on Saturday for the seventh consecutive season. The Warrior boys, who ended the regular season ranked 11th in 4A, finished 13th in the 4A state championship race. The team also claimed its second consecutive district title, winning the Class 4A State Qualifying Meet in Council Bluffs. In addition to the district title, the Norwalk boys finished in the top three as a team in five other meets this season and third in the Little Hawkeye Conference.

Norwalk’s top runner of the season was senior Teegan Kralik, who finished the regular season ranked 10th in 4A. Kralik took 25th at the state championships on Saturday with a time of 16:01. Following the race, Kralik told KNIA Sports the last race of his high school career wasn’t what he had hoped, but he has always given his all.

“Not exactly the result really any of us wanted but I know this race, like every other, I just gave everything I could and I can’t be too upset because I know everything I had to give, I gave…Just thousands and thousands of miles with my brothers who I love so much and it’s really bittersweet that it’s all kind of wrapped up.”

Kralik’s career personal best came on September 4th at the Kirk Schmaltz Invitational in Ames, where he placed third and posted a time of 15:35. Kralik ends his high school cross country career with several school course records, a 4A All-State honor in 2024, multiple All-Conference honors, and four individual state qualifications.

Senior Sam Parker was Norwalk’s #2 male runner this year as he finished the regular season ranked 21st in 4A. Parker placed 58th at the state championships with a time of 16:27. His career personal best also came at this year’s Kirk Schmaltz Invitational when he posted a time of 16:11. Parker ends his high school cross country career with multiple All-Conference honors and two individual state qualifications.

Senior Lane Osterloh is the third and final senior for the Warrior boys that ran at this year’s state championships. Osterloh, too, posted a personal best this year in Ames with a time of 16:14. Osterloh finished this season with All-Conference honors.

Juniors Sam Buhrow and Aksel Beedon and freshman Oliver Tice and Brayden Walderbach also competed at the 2025 state championships.

Aside from Kralik, Parker, and Osterloh, the Norwalk boys cross country team will graduate four other seniors: Harrison Bice, Jeremiah Brown, Drew Kehoe, and Carson Menke.
